Glutathione (GSH) is the tripeptide γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine, the most abundant low-molecular-weight thiol compound synthesised in cells (Forman et al., 2009). It is made in cells from glutamate, cysteine and glycine (Forman et al., 2009).
