Selank is a synthetic peptide described in the literature as an analogue of tuftsin (Kolomin et al., 2011). The studies cited here come from groups at the Institute of Molecular Genetics, Russian Academy of Sciences (Kolomin et al., 2011; Volkova et al., 2016; Filatova et al., 2017).
Published Selank research has largely measured gene expression. A 2011 study measured the expression of inflammation-related genes in mouse spleen (Kolomin et al., 2011); a 2016 study analysed 84 genes involved in neurotransmission in rat frontal cortex after administration of Selank or GABA (Volkova et al., 2016); and a 2017 study compared Selank, GABA and olanzapine in the human neuroblastoma cell line IMR-32 (Filatova et al., 2017). These are animal and cell-line findings; they do not show effects in people.
